Ipswich Hospital & Suffolk Family Carers

Dan had the opportunity to see the new Suffolk Family Carers' bus service at Ipswich hospital.

The bus stopped at the Hospital and opened its doors for carers of patients at Ipswich hospital. It gave them the opportunity to take a look around at the services it can offer.

Dan was delighted to be able to see the bus, which is close to raising the £2,500,000 needed to run the service for two years.

Hospital Chief Executive Nick Hulme showed Dan around the hospital and highlighted how the hospital is leading the way in its care for those people who are suffering from dementia. The wards caring for those patients with dementia use colour coded plates and glasses to help those patients recognise basic items making them feel safe and secure.

Does he also recognise that CAMHS recruitment is a real challenge? The August 2019 fill rates for higher trainees in the UK stand at...
