Healthy Hart: MP helps secure strong future for Hartismere Hospital

A well attended event of the Hartismere League of Friends met at Hartismere Hospital in Eye to hear from local MP Dr Dan Poulter and members of the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) about future plans to expand the community health services available at the hospital.

Local MP and medical doctor Dan Poulter had already succeeded in securing money for the recent £1.5 million refurbishment of Hartismere, and the meeting discussed how the CCG plan to better utilise the Hartismere Hospital site for the benefit of the local community.

Dr Dan Poulter said:

"After a long fight to save the hospital by myself, the League of Friends and others, it was very pleasing to hear how the local CCG intend to continue to use this great local resource.

"I am pleased that the hospital has a secure future in providing services to local people in Eye and the surrounding area.

"It is a testament to Leagues work and the popularity and importance of the hospital to rural communities that so many people came to the meeting to engage with the local health professionals and me"

I do not intend to rehearse the discussion on the lack of, or reduction in, funding for the...

Does he also recognise that CAMHS recruitment is a real challenge? The August 2019 fill rates for higher trainees in the UK stand at...
