Having a high-quality, reliable railway service in place in East Suffolk is vital for our county’s economy and earlier this week Dan was delighted to join his Suffolk MP colleagues and county councillors for the opening of the new Beccles Loop.
The £4 million project was jointly funded by Network Rail and Suffolk County Council and means that commuters in Suffolk will be able to take advantage of the first hourly service along the East Suffolk Line between Lowestoft and Ipswich, Suffolk’s two largest towns. In conjunction with his fellow Suffolk MPs Peter Aldous and Therese Coffey, and Suffolk County Council Leader Mark Bee, Dan worked hard for some time to secure funding for this important rail improvement project, and he is delighted the service is now up and running as it will bring many benefits for local commuters, businesses and the wider Suffolk economy.
