Dr Dan meets with young people at Charsfield CEVC Primary School

Dr Dan chats to a local pupil during a visit to Charsfield Primary School. Dan always enjoys meeting with young people during his regular visits to local schools in Suffolk and, last week, he was delighted to visit Charsfield Primary School, where he was given a tour by senior teacher Mrs Reeves.

Charsfield Primary is a small rural school that serves both Charsfield and the surrounding area, and is partnered with Dennington Primary School near Framlingham. Dan spoke with Mrs Reeves about the challenges facing small rural schools like Charsfield, such as the need to maintain steady pupil numbers and to raise money for key school improvements. All of the pupils were a credit to their teachers and Dan very much looks forward to visiting the school again.

Does he also recognise that CAMHS recruitment is a real challenge? The August 2019 fill rates for higher trainees in the UK stand at...
