Last week, Dan visited St John’s House in Palgrave to meet with staff and to take a tour of the home, which provides specialist treatment and care of adults with learning disabilities and mental illnesses.
As a doctor who has worked in the NHS, Dan has always been aware of the high quality support that is needed to look after adults with learning disabilities and behavioural disorders. The clinical staff at St John’s House provide a caring environment for both men and women with learning disabilities and also provide community-based care to support patients in both Suffolk and Norfolk closer to home, whilst working closely with local GPs, speech and language therapists, dentists, opticians, dieticians and chiropodists.
Dan would like to thank Joy Chamberlain, Chief Executive of Partnerships in Care which runs St John’s House, for inviting him to visit.
