For those of us not directly involved in farming the only time we come into contact with farmers is during the harvest. This often means being stuck behind a slow moving tractor and trailer on the road as they gather in the harvest.
Many people can find this extremely frustrating, this is why Dan is backing a great new initiative from the NFU to help thank motorists for their support and patience during harvest, and to make the link between the vehicle in front of them and the food on our plate.
Five thousand large vehicle stickers have been sent to farmers to highlight what is going on in fields at harvest time, and to help people make the connection with the food they buy and eat. They say: "Thank you for backing British farming as we deliver the nation's food." The stickers are a great way for farmers to thank people for their support and to highlight the work they are doing gathering in the huge variety of crops and produce we all enjoy.
